Penguins are one of the most resilient animals on the planet, having evolved over 60 million years ago and adapted to survive extreme environments – but today, their populations are threatened by human activity. Global Penguin Society, founded by Dr. Pablo Borboroglu, is working to protect the world’s 18 penguin species and the habitats they depend on. By gathering data on penguin populations, they spread education and awareness about the needs of this critical species.
