Lions are known as the top predator in Africa. While seen as a strong and resilient species their numbers are dwindling due to illegal trade, difficulties co-existing near humans, and under-resourced wildlife areas. The Lion Recovery Fund (LRF) works directly with communities on these issues to help recover struggling populations. The key aspirational target of the LRF is to double the population of lions by 2050.
